The themed and not very challenging path is one of the most interesting paths in the municipality of Krško. You can head off with a guide, go independently or join the traditional organized hike, which takes place every May.
The Trappists Trail is a looped route, starting at the Brestanica Square, passing the Turn castle to the Sava River, continuing its way along the banks of the river towards Soteljsko. The trail then ascends to the former trails of the Trappists to Sremič, where the Trappists once transported wine. On your way you will stop and stare at the mighty yew tree which the locals will readily tell you is 150 years old and is assumed to have been planted by the Trappists. The fact that they were highly advanced in viticulture is confirmed by the Trappist farm building with a cellar and a chapel. The trail continues to Grmada, in the company of vineyards, to the church of St. Mohor and back to the valley, where it climbs up to the Rajhenburg Castle.
