The trail starts in the very centre of Brestanica, its Main Square next to the pillory (pillar of shame). Take the forest trail uphill to St Hermagoras’ (Mohor in Slovene) Church from where you will be rewarded by a wonderful view of Rajhenburg Castle, the River Sava and the surrounding hills. Pass through the village of Sremič towards Grmada Hill and then, with vines and vineyards on all sides, continue to Bučerca and Anže. The path leads past a water collector to the source of the Lokovšek Stream, and through pristine nature around the Fishponds, an ideal location for a summertime picnic.
