The House of the Franconian with the one-of-a-kind White Franconian

The young proprietor of the House of the Franconian offers the tasting of several types of wines from the Blue Franconian variety.

The Kerin family from the village of Straža pri Krškem has been making wine for three generations already. In their vineyards extending over roughly 6 hectares, they grow various grape varieties ranging from Pinot Gris, Kerner, Chardonnay and Welschriesling to the Blue Franconian.
Welcoming visitors in a state-of-the-art wine cellar, the youngest of the proprietors will be thrilled to share the stories of the love of the land, technological intricacies of winemaking and the most recent and very unique achievement – a white wine made from Blue Franconian red-skinned grapes they call bela frankinja (White Franconian).
A visit to the House of the Franconian is an experience like no other, it is a true get-together in the embrace of the winegrowing hills complemented with the sampling of top quality wines and traditional dishes.
It is worth dedicating at least a couple of hours or so to the proposed guided wine tasting and visit of the wine cellar as time seems to stand still at the Kerin estate.
