Standing in the Town Park is one of the most beautiful Neo-Gothic-style mausoleums in Slovenia, the final resting place of the Hočevar couple. The interior of the Mausoleum (Hočevarjev mavzolej in Slovene) is dominated by a large statue of Christ made of white stone. Martin Hočevar died in 1886 and was buried at the old Krško cemetery that is now the Park. Soon, the construction of the Mausoleum began. It was most likely designed by an architect from Graz belonging to the circle of Georg Hauberrisser and completed in 1890 with the transfer of Martin Hočevar’s remains. He was joined in 1911 by his wife Josipina.
