The Ladybird Trail reveals the natural and cultural points of interest of Raka. For starters, you may visit St Lawrence’s (Lovrenc in Slovene) Church, then head on to the pillory (pillar of shame) by the path leading to Raka Castle. Visit the orchard with high trees and see three huge oaks that remain from the woods cleared by the lord of the manor Felix (end of the 19th century). Past a small brook, you will arrive to the fruit drying building belonging to the Žabkar Farmstead, then continue to the homestead of the brothers Humek, who wrote books about fruit farming. A steep path will then lead to the chapel on Vinji vrh that offers a beautiful view of the entire Krško Basin, Gorjanci Hills and Kočevski rog Range. You will return to Saint Lawrence’s after a relatively long hike.
