Krško Destination Awarded the Slovenia Green Gold Label
The Krško destination has successfully completed the evaluation process within the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism and has been awarded the prestigious Slovenia Green Gold label, placing it among the leading sustainable destinations in Slovenia.
A significant contribution to achieving the Gold label was made by
Hotel and Restaurant Kunst, which obtained the
Good Travel Seal sustainability certification, thereby contributing to the development of the destination’s green and sustainable tourism story.
The destination once again demonstrated a high level of sustainable tourism development, achieving an excellent average
score of 8.7 across six categories: destination management, nature and landscape, environment and climate, culture and tradition, social climate, and tourism business operations and communication. The certification process was led by a
Green Team of seven members from various institutions, under the coordination of the Green Coordinator from the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Tourism Krško.
The
Slovenia Green Gold label confirms that the Municipality of Krško is committed to sustainable development as the right path for the destination’s future, while also representing a continued commitment to this strategic direction.
A green destination is not merely a project or the responsibility of tourism organisations alone. It can only be achieved through the joint efforts of all stakeholders across all sectors. Local residents also play a key role, as it is essential that the destination is first and foremost a pleasant and high-quality place to live and work. Only then can it become an attractive and welcoming destination for visitors.
